Solta vs Claude's Publish link
By João Saraiva
Claude can publish an artifact made in a chat, which its help calls a legacy artifact, to a link on the Free, Pro and Max plans; Team and Enterprise use Share & copy link.1 Solta takes what Claude makes, and what ChatGPT makes, and gives it a link you control: who can open it, which version is live, and where it is embedded.
The short answer
If the page uses Claude while people use it, and they have Claude accounts, keep it in Claude: those parts run for signed-in viewers, on their own usage.1
If people without a Claude account must open it behind a password or by invitation, or you want versions, PDFs and forms around it, choose Solta.
Side by side
| What is compared | Solta | Claude |
|---|---|---|
| PriceAs of 13 October 2026 | Free. Pro is $12 a month or $108 a year, for one publisher. Team is $49 a month for 3 publishers, then $12 a month for each one after. | Included in Claude. Publishing a chat artifact is on the Free, Pro and Max plans.1 |
| Do viewers need an account? | No. Public and unlisted links open for anyone, and an invited viewer verifies their email once, with no account and no password. | A published chat artifact opens for anyone with the link without a Claude account, who is asked to sign up only for the parts that use Claude. On Team and Enterprise, viewers of a shared chat artifact need a Claude account.1 |
| Who can open it | Public, unlisted or private on every plan, and a password on 1 site at a time on Free. On Pro, a password on any site, or named people who verify their email once. Only your workspace, on Team. | Anyone with the link, your organisation, or people invited by email, which is a beta on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, as Can view, Commenter or Can edit.1 |
| Working as a team | Team is a shared library for 3 publishers or more, with a setting that lets in only the workspace. People who view or comment don't take a seat. | On Team and Enterprise, artifacts stay inside the organisation unless an Owner turns on external sharing.1 |
| Pages that call an AI model | On Pro, a site can call Anthropic or OpenAI with your own key, which Solta holds so it is never in the page. The file posts to its own address instead of calling Claude directly. | Parts that use Claude need the viewer signed in, and count toward the viewer's own usage. For invited people outside your organisation, parts that use Claude or your connectors don't work.1 |
| Saving a page's data | A site can keep each visitor's data on Solta, up to 1 MB a site on Free, and on Pro and Team one store shared by everyone who opens it. | Personal storage for each viewer, and shared storage that everyone who opens it can see.1 |
| On your website | One snippet puts a site on any website, or only on the domains you list. Embeds on Free carry a small Solta badge. A site behind a password or an invitation can't be embedded. | A published chat artifact can be embedded on the websites you list.1 |
| Taking it down | Set a site to Private and only you and the people who work on it can open it. Set it back and the same link works again. | Unpublishing revokes access, can't be followed by publishing again, and permanently deletes the storage data the artifact used.1 |

Where Claude is stronger
- It is already in Claude: publishing is one button, with no other account.1
- Pages that use Claude keep working for signed-in viewers, on their own usage. On Solta, a site that calls a model has to be changed to use your own key, on Pro.1
- People you invite can be given Can view, Commenter or Can edit access, inside Claude.1
- Artifacts can keep personal and shared storage data with no setup, and pull from the viewer's own connected apps.1
Who each one is for
Claude
For sharing a chat artifact with anyone, or a newer one with people who have Claude accounts, when the link is all that is needed.1
Solta
For sending what Claude or ChatGPT made to clients or colleagues without Claude: behind a password or an invitation, with versions, and next to the PDFs and files that go with it.
How to move
- Download the file from Claude, or copy its code.
- Paste it, or drop the folder, zip or PDF, at solta.now. No account is needed to try it: an unclaimed site stays up 24 hours, and claiming it keeps the address.
- Choose who can open it: public, unlisted or private on Free; a password or named people on Pro; only your workspace on Team.
- If the page called Claude, point those calls at /_solta/ai, on Pro, with your own key, which Solta holds for you.
