Questions about the money
- Is Solta really free?
- Yes, for sharing, with no time limit and no card. Sites are unlimited, and everyone you share with views, comments and approves free, on every plan. Free includes publishing from Claude or ChatGPT, installing a site as an app, saving each visitor's data across devices, visitors bringing their own AI, 30 days of views and the API. Free sites carry a small Solta badge. You pay for your own domain, no badge, passwords and invitations, forms, and a shared library. On Pro and Team, add storage any time. Fair use applies, and says what that means in numbers. Read it
- What counts as a seat?
- A seat is someone who publishes. Viewers, commenters and approvers are free and always will be. Pro is one publisher; Team includes 3 and costs $12 a month for each one after.
- What happens to my sites if I downgrade?
- Your sites stay up and nothing you published is deleted by the downgrade itself. On Free, saving a new version keeps the last five; older ones are archived, and their files are kept for 30 days. Upgrade within those 30 days and they come back. After that, their files are deleted and those versions' permalinks stop working.
- Do you charge for viewers?
- No. Charging for an audience would make the product worse — you would share less, which is the opposite of the point.
- Is VAT included?
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT. Stripe sells the plans for us, as the merchant of record, so the right VAT for your country is added at checkout and the invoice comes from Stripe.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, any time, from Settings → Plan and billing, which opens Stripe's billing portal. No email, no call. It takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting your account ends a paid plan straight away, and the time left is not refunded.
