Solta vs Netlify Drop
By João Saraiva
Netlify Drop takes a folder or zip and gives you a live address in seconds, with no account needed to start.1 Solta takes the file Claude or ChatGPT wrote, a React component included, and shares it with the people you choose.
The short answer
Side by side
| What is compared | Solta | Netlify Drop |
|---|---|---|
| PriceAs of 13 October 2026 | Free. Pro is $12 a month or $108 a year, for one publisher. Team is $49 a month for 3 publishers, then $12 a month for each one after. | Free; Personal $9 a month; Pro $20 a month with unlimited members; Enterprise on a quote.2 |
| Free plan or trial | A free plan with no end date: public, unlisted and private sites, a password on 1 site at a time, the last 5 versions of each, 200 MB of storage, 30 days of analytics, and a small Solta badge on the site and on embeds. | A free plan with 300 credits, custom domains with SSL, unlimited deploy previews and a global CDN.2 |
| How you publish | Paste the file, or drop a folder, zip or PDF, at solta.now. No account to start: an unclaimed site stays up 24 hours, and claiming it keeps the same address. | Drop a folder or zip with no account. Dropped while signed out, the site sits behind a temporary password until you claim it by signing up.1 |
| A React file from Claude | Paste the .jsx or .tsx file Claude wrote and Solta compiles it when you publish, with Tailwind and shadcn/ui handled. No conversion to HTML first. | Signed in, Netlify detects the framework and runs the build. Dropped while signed out, the files are published as they are.1 |
| Sizes and limits | Single files up to 2 MB; folders and zips up to 50 MB. 200 MB of storage on Free, 10 GB on Pro, 25 GB per publisher on Team. | Its guide recommends keeping a drop under 50 MB, and says single files over 10 MB may get it stuck.1 |
| Who can open it | Public, unlisted or private on every plan, and a password on 1 site at a time on Free. On Pro, a password on any site, or named people who verify their email once. Only your workspace, on Team. | Password protection for a whole site on Pro. Not on the Free or Personal plans.3 |
| Your own domain | 1 on Pro, as many as you need on Team. | Custom domains with SSL from the Free plan.2 |
| Running code on a server | None. Solta serves files and runs no server code, such as PHP, for a site. A site can save data on Solta, and on Pro call a model through it. | Its pricing lists functions and AI models on the free plan.2 |
| Working as a team | Team is a shared library for 3 publishers or more, with a setting that lets in only the workspace. People who view or comment don't take a seat. | Unlimited members on Pro.2 |
| Who opened it | Views and visitors by day, countries, devices, pages and referrers, with no cookie: 30 days back on Free, a year on Pro, all of it on Team. It counts visitors but doesn't say who they are. | 30 days of analytics and metrics on Pro.2 |

Where Netlify Drop is stronger
- Your own domain with SSL on the free plan. On Solta, your own domain needs Pro.2
- Signed in, it detects your framework and runs the build for you, so a whole project can be dropped before it is built.1
- Functions on the free plan, so a site can run code on a server. Solta runs no server code.2
- Unlimited deploy previews and a global CDN on the free plan.2
- Unlimited members on Pro, for one price.2
- Publishing from AI, Git or an API, listed on the free plan.2
