Online HTML tester

Write or paste HTML, CSS and JavaScript and run it as you type. See the page, what it logs and its errors, on a phone, a tablet or a computer.

What the page logs with console.log shows here, and so do its errors.

Nothing is sent until you get a link. Then anyone with the link can open the page, with no account.

Test HTML, CSS and JavaScript in your browser

The code runs as you type: HTML, CSS in a <style> tag and JavaScript in a <script> tag, as they would on a website, with the libraries a page loads from the usual public CDNs. It runs in a sealed frame on another address, so it cannot read solta.now, your cookies or your accounts.

Nothing is sent while you test. The code is kept in this browser until you press Clear, so a page you were testing is still here tomorrow.

What to check before you send a page

  • It reads on a phone. Switch to Phone: most links sent in a chat are opened on one. Look for text that runs off the side, and buttons too small to press.
  • The Console is quiet. Each error shows there with its line. Press the line, and the code opens at it.
  • Every picture and file loads. The Console names a file the page could not load. If it is beside the page on your computer, open the whole folder instead.
  • Every button does what it says. Press each one, and type into each field.
  • It prints, if people will print it. Save as PDF shows the page as a printer would.

Test a page Claude or ChatGPT wrote

Copy the page your AI wrote and press Paste. If something does not work, the Console names the error and the line: tell your AI both, and paste what it sends back. A page that starts with import lines is a React component, which has to be built before any browser can show it: why a React artifact opens blank.

Publish a React file in the box below

When it works, Get a link, under the page, publishes it at its own address, and it opens without an account. To open an HTML file someone sent you rather than write one, use the HTML viewer, which starts from the page instead of the code.

Questions

Is this an HTML compiler?

Not quite: HTML isn't compiled. A browser reads it and runs its scripts, and this tester does the same as you type. It is what people mean by an HTML compiler or an HTML runner: your code runs, and you see the result.

Does it check that my HTML is valid?

No. It runs your page as a browser would, and the Console shows each error its scripts throw, with its line. To check the markup itself against the HTML standard, use the W3C's markup validator.

Can I test JavaScript?

Yes. Scripts run as they would on a website. What they log with console.log, and every error, shows in the Console under the page, each with the line of code it came from.

Is my code saved?

It is kept in this browser, so it is still here when you come back, until you press Clear. Nothing is sent to Solta until you press Get a link.

Can I test a page whose CSS and pictures are in separate files?

Yes. Open a folder, or open a .zip of the folder with Open a file, and the page runs with its stylesheets, scripts and pictures. You can change any of its files here.

Can I test on my phone?

Yes. On a phone, Code and Page take turns on the screen. On a computer, Phone shows the page 390 pixels wide, about the width of a phone.

How do I show someone what I tested?

Get a link publishes it at its own address, and it opens without an account. A site published without an account stays up for 24 hours. To keep it, sign in from the card that shows its address.

Try it with your own file

No account needed to start. Paste it or drop it, then sign in to keep it.

Or publish it from the chat

Add Solta to Claude or ChatGPT once, then ask in any conversation to publish what it built. The link comes back in the chat.
