HTML viewer: paste code, see the page, send it as a link
By João Saraiva
Open an .html file or paste HTML, CSS and JavaScript on the left, and the page renders on the right, scripts and all, in your browser. When it looks right, the Solta button puts it at a link anyone can open without an account.
Nothing leaves your browser until you press it. Then the page goes live at a link anyone can open, with no account needed.
What the viewer runs, and what it doesn't
HTML, CSS in a <style> tag and JavaScript in a <script> tag run the way they would on a website, so a button, a form or a small calculator works in the preview. Libraries a page loads from the usual public CDNs, such as cdnjs, jsDelivr, unpkg or Tailwind's, load too. The page runs in a sealed frame on another address: it cannot read solta.now, your cookies or your accounts, and it cannot take this window anywhere.
Three things show differently here:
- Files beside it. A page that loads
style.css, pictures or a CSV from its own folder finds nothing, because those files are still on your computer. Upload the whole folder with Upload files in the box at the foot of the page, and they go up with it. - React from Claude or ChatGPT. A component that starts with
importlines is blank in any plain HTML viewer, because it has to be built into a page first: why a React artifact opens blank. Paste it into the box at the foot of the page instead, and Solta builds it when it publishes it, as hosting a Claude artifact explains. - Saving in the browser. Something a page keeps with
localStoragelasts until the preview draws it again. Published, it keeps it in the visitor's browser.
Upload a folder or a React file below
From a preview to a link: HTML to a website in three steps
1. Paste it, or open the file
Copy the code your AI wrote, or press Open a file and choose the .html file. The preview draws itself again as you type. A page with its images and stylesheet beside it is a folder: drop the folder instead.
2. Check it at desktop and phone width
Switch to Phone to see the page 390 pixels wide, about the width of a phone, where most links sent in a chat get opened.
3. Publish it with the Solta button, and send the link
The Solta button under the code publishes it. The page goes live at its own address, and it opens without an account. With no account it stays up for 24 hours; claim it from the card that shows the address, by signing in, and it stays at the same address. Then choose who can open it: public, unlisted or private on every plan, and a password on every plan (1 site at a time on Free): what a password on a page protects.
Before it goes up, Solta scans the code and refuses a page with an API key, an access token or a private key written in it, because anyone who opens the page could read it.
Does your HTML come out of Claude or ChatGPT? Publish it from the chat, and the link comes back there.
HTML viewers side by side
What each one says on its own page, read on 20 October 2026:
| Viewer | What it shows | Sending it as a link |
|---|---|---|
| Tiiny Host's HTML viewer | A code editor and a live preview side by side, with separate CSS and JavaScript tabs. The code goes to the W3C's validator to be checked for errors. | Publish carries the code to tiiny.host, where it goes online once your email address is verified |
| HTMLViewer.io | Pasted or typed HTML, rendered side by side with the code | A link, public or for specific people, and an export to PDF |
| JSFiddle | A code playground, for React, Tailwind and plain code | Fiddle Pages, your fiddles under a custom domain, come with JSFiddle PRO |
| Solta | HTML, CSS and JavaScript running at desktop or phone width, sent nowhere until you publish | The Solta button: a link that opens without an account, React included when it is pasted in the box at the foot of the page |
Questions
Is my code uploaded when I paste it?
No. The page runs in your browser, in a sealed frame that cannot read solta.now, your cookies or your accounts. Nothing is sent to Solta until you press the Solta button to publish it.
Does JavaScript run in the preview?
Yes. Scripts in a <script> tag, onclick and the like run as they would on a website, so buttons, tabs and small calculators work. The preview follows the same rules as a page published on Solta, so what works here works at the link.
Can I open an .html file from my computer?
Yes. Open a file reads an .html file of up to 2 MB into the viewer, on your own computer. If the page loads pictures or a stylesheet from beside it, upload the whole folder in the box at the foot of the page instead, so those files come along.
Can I read the code of an HTML file someone sent me?
Yes. Open a file shows its HTML code on the left and renders the page on the right, so you can read what it says and see what it does without opening it from your disk.
Can I test HTML code here before I send it?
Yes. Edit the code and the page draws itself again as you type. Switch to Phone to see it at a phone's width, where most links sent in a chat are opened.
Why is my Claude or ChatGPT page blank?
A React component, one that starts with import lines, has to be built into a page before any browser can show it, so it is blank in this viewer and in any other plain one. Paste it into the box at the foot of the page instead: Solta builds it when it publishes.
How long does the link stay up?
An unclaimed site stays up for 24 hours. To keep it, claim it from the link on the card that shows its address: you sign in, or make an account, and it stays at the same address.
Can I put a password on it?
Yes, once it is claimed. Public, unlisted or private is on every plan, and a password on every plan, 1 site at a time on Free.
Why won't Solta publish my page?
Before a page goes up, Solta scans it and refuses one with an API key, an access token or a private key written in it, because anyone who opens the page could read it. Take the key out and press the Solta button again.
