Baby shower invitation template with RSVP

Live on Solta · licensed CC BY 4.0

What it is

An invitation to a made-up garden brunch shower on the Sunday about five weeks from today, for a baby due two months later. It shows the days to the shower and the weeks to the due date, the address with a copy button, what is on the brunch table, a book-instead-of-a-card request, and links to the registry and a meal-train sign-up. Guests add the shower to their calendar with a file. The RSVP asks who is coming, whether they bring someone and any dietary needs, and carries the game: a guess at the birth date, within a few weeks of the due date, and the weight in pounds and ounces, plus advice for the parents. Guests who can't come can still guess. Their own reply is kept in their browser, so they can change it. Printed, it is the invitation without the buttons and the form, with the page's address under the date.

Who it's for

Friends and family throwing a shower who want the RSVPs, the guesses and the advice in one list, and parents-to-be sharing a single link instead of a paper card.

What you can change

You ask in plain words. These are the kind of changes people ask their AI for:

  • “Make it a shower for Priya and Sam on March 8 at 2pm, at my apartment in Denver.”
  • “Change the game to guessing the baby's name, and the weight in kilograms.”
  • “Replace the registry links with these two.”
  • “Make it a virtual shower with a video call link instead of an address.”
  • “Use soft yellow and lavender, and a moon instead of the leaves.”

How to make it yours

  1. Remix it. A copy lands in your library as a site of your own, at its own link. If you have no account yet, you are asked to make one, and the copy is made when you come back.
  2. Change it in Claude or ChatGPT. Add the Solta connector once, then ask for the change in plain words, for example: “Make my Baby shower invitation a shower for Priya and Sam on March 8 at 2pm, at my apartment in Denver.” It reads the site's code, makes the change and saves it as a draft. The link keeps showing the old version until you publish.
  3. Publish. Ask it to publish, or publish from the site in your library. The new version goes live at the same link, so nobody needs a new one.
  4. Turn the form on. This template posts each guest's name and email, whether they are coming, who they bring, dietary needs, their guess at the date and weight, and advice for the parents to /_solta/forms/rsvp. In the site's Site settings → Forms, switch that form on; until you do, nothing is kept. Collecting answers is on every plan (how forms work).

Questions

Where do the replies and guesses go?

The page posts each one to /_solta/forms/rsvp, at its own address. Turn that form on in Site settings → Forms and every reply lands in the Answers tab, with the guesses as columns, so finding the closest one is a sort. Until you do, a reply stays on the guest's device and the page tells them so. Collecting answers is on every plan.

Does it pick the winner?

No. It collects the guesses; once the baby is here, export the answers and find the closest date and weight, or ask your AI to add a section that shows the winner.

Can I keep it to the guests?

Unlisted keeps it out of search on every plan; a password is on every plan, and inviting people by email is on Pro and Team.

Or start from what you already have
