Birthday party invitation template with RSVP

Live on Solta · licensed CC BY 4.0

What it is

An invitation to a made-up sixth birthday, a rocket party at a community room, on the Saturday about three weeks from today. A countdown ticks to the second. Below it: the address with a copy button, drop-off and pick-up times, what to wear, the no-gifts request, the food and parking, and the afternoon's plan hour by hour. Parents add the party to their calendar with a file. The RSVP asks for the child's name, the parent's name and email, whether they are coming, how many kids and how many grown-ups are staying, and any allergies. The parent's own reply is kept in their browser, so they can change it before the deadline. Printed, it is the invitation without the buttons and the form, with the page's address under the date.

Who it's for

Parents planning a kid's party who want one link to send to the class group, the answers in one list, and no app for the other parents to install. It works for a grown-up's birthday too.

What you can change

You ask in plain words. These are the kind of changes people ask their AI for:

  • “Make it Mia's 8th birthday, a unicorn party at our house on May 3, from 3 to 5.”
  • “Change the plan to bouncy castle, pizza, cake and a piñata.”
  • “Add a question for a T-shirt size, for the party T-shirts.”
  • “Make it my 40th: drinks and dinner at a restaurant, adults only.”
  • “Use pink and gold instead of the rocket colors, and draw a unicorn instead of the rocket.”

How to make it yours

  1. Remix it. A copy lands in your library as a site of your own, at its own link. If you have no account yet, you are asked to make one, and the copy is made when you come back.
  2. Change it in Claude or ChatGPT. Add the Solta connector once, then ask for the change in plain words, for example: “Make my Birthday invitation Mia's 8th birthday, a unicorn party at our house on May 3, from 3 to 5.” It reads the site's code, makes the change and saves it as a draft. The link keeps showing the old version until you publish.
  3. Publish. Ask it to publish, or publish from the site in your library. The new version goes live at the same link, so nobody needs a new one.
  4. Turn the form on. This template posts the child's name, the parent's name and email, whether they are coming, how many kids and grown-ups, allergies and a message to /_solta/forms/rsvp. In the site's Site settings → Forms, switch that form on; until you do, nothing is kept. Collecting answers is on every plan (how forms work).

Questions

Where do the replies go?

The page posts each one to /_solta/forms/rsvp, at its own address. Turn that form on in Site settings → Forms and every reply lands in the Answers tab, and in your inbox if you ask for that. Until you do, a reply stays on the parent's device and the page tells them so. Collecting answers is on every plan.

Can I send it to the class group chat?

Yes. It is a link, so it goes anywhere a link goes, and it opens on any phone without an app. Unlisted keeps it out of search, if you would rather the address and the date were not findable.

Or start from what you already have

Paste the file your AI made, or publish it from the chat, and get a link of its own.
