Client proposal template

Live on Solta · licensed CC BY 4.0

What it is

A website proposal from a design studio to a coffee roaster, both made up. It sets out the brief, what is and is not in scope, four phases on a week-by-week timeline, three priced options and four add-ons. When the client picks an option or ticks an add-on, the timeline, the totals and the 40/40/20 payment schedule change with it. At the end the client types their name and role, ticks the terms and approves. The whole proposal prints as a clean A4 page.

Who it's for

Studios, freelancers and agencies who quote for project work and want the client to compare options and approve in one place, instead of replying to a PDF.

What you can change

You ask in plain words. These are the kind of changes people ask their AI for:

  • “Replace Kettle & Pine and Larchmere with my studio and my client, and use our brand colors.”
  • “Make the three options Starter at $6,000, Standard at $11,000 and Premium at $18,000, and rewrite what each includes.”
  • “Change the payment schedule to 50% on approval and 50% at launch.”
  • “Swap the add-ons for SEO setup, a content migration and a six-month care plan.”
  • “Rewrite the brief and the quote at the top from these notes from my first call.”

How to make it yours

  1. Remix it. A copy lands in your library as a site of your own, at its own link. If you have no account yet, you are asked to make one, and the copy is made when you come back.
  2. Change it in Claude or ChatGPT. Add the Solta connector once, then ask for the change in plain words, for example: “Change the three options in my Client proposal to Starter, Standard and Premium, at these prices.” It reads the site's code, makes the change and saves it as a draft. The link keeps showing the old version until you publish.
  3. Publish. Ask it to publish, or publish from the site in your library. The new version goes live at the same link, so nobody needs a new one.
  4. Turn the form on. This template posts the option and add-ons the client chose, the totals, and the name and role they typed to /_solta/forms/proposal-approval. In the site's Site settings → Forms, switch that form on; until you do, nothing is kept. Collecting answers is on every plan (how forms work).

Questions

Where does the client's approval go?

The page posts it to /_solta/forms/proposal-approval, at its own address. Turn that form on in Site settings → Forms and each approval lands in the Answers tab, and in your inbox if you ask for that. Until you do, the approval stays on the client's device and the page tells them so. Collecting answers is on every plan.

Is the on-screen approval an e-signature?

It records a typed name, a role, a ticked box and the time. It is not a signing service with identity checks. If your contracts need a handwritten signature, print it before approving: the printed page has lines for one.

Does my client need a Solta account?

No. They open the link like any web page. Only the people who publish need an account.

Or start from what you already have

Paste the file your AI made, or publish it from the chat, and get a link of its own.
