Reading list tracker template

What it is
A reading tracker with a sample shelf of classics. Books sit on three shelves, want to read, reading and finished, and move between them with a button. A book you are reading has a slider and buttons for the pages you have read, and a finished one takes a star rating and a line to remember it by. Search finds a book by title or author, and new ones are added with a title, an author and the number of pages. A ring shows the books finished this year against the goal, 18 to start, and whether you are ahead of pace or behind it. Covers are drawn from the title, so nothing loads, and everything is saved in the browser.
Who it's for
Readers who want a simple record of what they read and a goal for the year, without a social network attached.
What you can change
You ask in plain words. These are the kind of changes people ask their AI for:
- “Clear the sample and add these books I want to read this year.”
- “Set my goal to 30 books and count pages read as well.”
- “Add a shelf for books I gave up on.”
- “Add a button that downloads my list as a CSV file.”
How to make it yours
- Remix it. A copy lands in your library as a site of your own, at its own link. If you have no account yet, you are asked to make one, and the copy is made when you come back.
- Change it in Claude or ChatGPT. Add the Solta connector once, then ask for the change in plain words, for example: “In my Reading list, clear the sample, add these books and set my goal to 30.” It reads the site's code, makes the change and saves it as a draft. The link keeps showing the old version until you publish.
- Publish. Ask it to publish, or publish from the site in your library. The new version goes live at the same link, so nobody needs a new one.
Questions
Where is my list saved?
In the browser's storage on the device you use, under reading-list:v1. Nothing is sent to Solta or anyone else, and clearing the browser's data clears the list.
Can I put it on my phone like an app?
Yes. Turn on Install as an app in the site's settings (it is on every plan), open the link on your phone and add it to the home screen.
