How to make a website with AI
- In the box above, on Describe it, say what the site is for and who it is for, what it should have on it, and how it should feel: “A wedding page with the day's timetable, a map and a form to say who's coming.”
- Press Build it here. The first time, it asks you to sign in: a free account, so the site is yours to keep and change.
- It builds for about a minute, then the site opens at its own link, live. Send the link to anyone; they need nothing to open it.
- Ask for changes in the site's Chat tab, in plain words: “Make the header dark green and add our opening hours.” Each change is a new version at the same link, and you can go back to an earlier one.
What it can build
A page or a small app that runs in the browser: a landing page, an invitation with a form to reply, a menu, a portfolio, a calculator, a quiz, a sign-up sheet. Forms send their answers to you, and a site can save what visitors do in their browser, or on Solta. It is not an online shop with payments, and it doesn't log people in with passwords.
Describe it in any language: the AI writes the site's own words in the language you used, so a description in Portuguese comes back as a site in Portuguese.
Free prompts, and after
Each account has 3 free prompts, on every plan: the first build is one, and each change you ask for in the Chat tab is another. What you made stays up when they are used. To keep going, ask your own AI chat for the next version and publish it at the same link: paste it in the box, or add Solta's connector and ChatGPT or Claude publishes it for you.
On Free a site carries a small Solta badge, and 3 sites are live at a time. Plans take the badge off and add more.
Make a website with ChatGPT, and put it online
If you already work in ChatGPT, ask it for “a website as one HTML file”, then paste what it gives you in the box, on Paste code: the link comes back in seconds. With Solta's connector added, you just say “publish this on Solta” in the chat. Claude's artifacts publish the same way, React included. Publishing a ChatGPT canvas.
Other ways to make a website with AI
AI app builders and ChatGPT itself can build and host a site too. Two of them, as their own pages described them on 1 November 2026:
| Service | Its free plan | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Sites | Not on it: Sites is on ChatGPT Plus and Pro, and Business and Enterprise workspaces | Building counts toward Codex usage; a new site is private until you share it |
| Lovable | 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month; publishing to a lovable.app address is free | A custom domain needs a paid plan; a free project with no visits or logins for 12 months may be unpublished |
| Solta Free | 3 free prompts an account, and anything your own AI makes publishes free | A small Solta badge, and 3 sites live at a time |
Questions
Can I make a website with AI for free?
Yes. Describe it in the box and Solta's AI builds it, with a free account: each account has 3 free prompts, the first build and the changes after it. The site stays up at its link, with a small Solta badge on Free, which has 3 live sites at a time.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe the site in your own words and change it the same way, in the site's Chat tab. The code is there if you want it: you can download it, or paste a new version.
Can I describe it in another language?
Yes. The AI answers in the language you write in, and writes the site's own text in it too: describe it in Portuguese, Spanish or Arabic, and the site comes back in that language.
What happens when my free prompts are used?
The site you made stays up. To keep changing it, ask your own AI chat (ChatGPT, Claude, or any other) for the next version and publish it at the same link, by pasting it here or through Solta's connector for ChatGPT and Claude.
Can I make a website with ChatGPT and put it online?
Yes. Ask ChatGPT for a website as one HTML file, then paste it in the box, or add Solta's connector and ChatGPT publishes it for you. ChatGPT's own Sites feature is on its paid plans; pasting here works with ChatGPT's free plan too.
How long can my description be?
Up to 4,000 characters: enough for the sections you want, the words to use and how it should look. Shorter works: say what the site is for and who it is for, and ask for changes after.
