Client onboarding checklist template

What it is
What a made-up marketing agency sends a new client for their first three weeks: sixteen steps, grouped into accounts and access, brand and content, and review and launch. Each step says who does it, the client or the agency, roughly how long it takes and when it is due, and the client's steps carry a link and a short how-to. The client ticks steps off and a ring shows how far along they are; one switch shows only the steps waiting on them. Contacts, office hours and five common questions sit below, and Copy progress update writes a short email of what is done and what is left.
Who it's for
Agencies, consultants and freelancers who take on new clients and spend the first weeks chasing access, files and approvals.
What you can change
You ask in plain words. These are the kind of changes people ask their AI for:
- “Replace Fernhill and Juniper Row with my agency and my client, and use my team's names and emails.”
- “Change the steps for a bookkeeping client: bank feeds, payroll access and last year's accounts.”
- “Make it four weeks instead of three and add a training week.”
- “Point the links at our real booking page and upload folder.”
How to make it yours
- Remix it. A copy lands in your library as a site of your own, at its own link. If you have no account yet, you are asked to make one, and the copy is made when you come back.
- Change it in Claude or ChatGPT. Add the Solta connector once, then ask for the change in plain words, for example: “In my Client onboarding, replace the agency and client with mine and point the links at our booking page.” It reads the site's code, makes the change and saves it as a draft. The link keeps showing the old version until you publish.
- Publish. Ask it to publish, or publish from the site in your library. The new version goes live at the same link, so nobody needs a new one.
Questions
Do I see when the client ticks a step?
No. Ticks are saved in the client's own browser and nothing is sent to you. The client presses Copy progress update and pastes the note into an email. If you want the ticks to reach you, ask your AI to post them to a Solta form, then turn it on in Site settings → Forms (every plan).
Are the due dates real dates?
They are working days counted from a start four working days before today, so the sample always reads as the first week. Ask your AI for a fixed start date when you send it to a real client.
