Serve a site from an address you own
A site can live at tools.acme.com rather than at a Solta link. Nothing about the site changes, and its solta.site link keeps working beside it.
How it works
- In the site's settings, open Your own domain and type the hostname.
- Add the two records shown at your registrar: a CNAME that points the name at Solta, and a TXT that proves the domain is yours.
- Solta checks every five minutes, or when you press Check now, and says what is wrong if something is.
- Once it is live, the certificate is issued on the first visit, in a few seconds.
Worth knowing
A bare domain
A name such as acme.com cannot have a CNAME, so use the A and AAAA addresses shown next to it instead. If your DNS provider proxies the record, turn the proxy off.
What stays the same
Version addresses, embeds and comments all behave as before. Removing a domain takes it down at Solta; the DNS records are yours to delete at the registrar.

Who uses it
More in sharing
- Passwords and private linksPublic, unlisted, password, invited, your workspace or only you, and an email asked for first if you like.
- Links that expirePick a date and the link stops opening after it. Move the date and it opens again.
- EmbedsTwo lines on any web page, a frame that resizes itself, and a list of the domains that may show it.
Try it with your own file
No account needed. Paste it or drop it, and the link is yours to keep once you claim it.
Or publish it from the chat
Add Solta to Claude or ChatGPT once, then ask in any conversation to publish what it built. The link comes back in the chat.
