Passwords and private links

Decide who can open a site, without changing its link

A site can be public, unlisted, behind a password, open only to the people you invite, open to your workspace, or private. Changing it never changes the link; it changes who the link lets in.

How it works

  1. Open the site in Solta and choose Who can open this.
  2. Pick an option. Password asks for one before anything loads; Invited lets in only the addresses you add.
  3. Send the link. With a password, send the password separately, or you have sent one thing.
  4. Change it whenever you like. The link stays the same.

Worth knowing

A real check, not a banner

Password and Invited check before anything is served: the files are not sitting in the page behind a hidden layer. A gated site cannot be embedded, because a frame that skipped the gate would make it a gate in name only.

No account for the people you invite

An invited person verifies their address by email once, with no account and no password to remember. People who only view are never counted as publishers.

Or ask for an email first

A public or unlisted site can ask for an address before it opens. You see who gave one, when and how often, with a CSV to download, and can have each address verified with a code. To let in only the people you chose, use Invited.

Try it with your own file

No account needed. Paste it or drop it, and the link is yours to keep once you claim it.

Or publish it from the chat

Add Solta to Claude or ChatGPT once, then ask in any conversation to publish what it built. The link comes back in the chat.
