A simple client portal: share files with each client behind a password
A client portal does not need a login system. Solta gives each client a private site with folders for Agreements, Invoices and Notes, behind a password you send them. They open the link in any browser, with no account to make, and see only their own files.
A private site for each client, ready in a minute
Start from the client portal on New site, then open that site's menu in your library and choose Copy with a password. Type the client's name and Solta copies the portal, names the copy after the client and closes it behind a password it makes. You can also put it in a library folder, such as Clients. The password shows once, with a button to copy it, so copy it then and send it apart from the link.
Copy with a password works the same way on any site you already built, such as a proposal or a handover pack. Password is on every plan (1 site at a time on Free and 5 on Plus), and Pro and Team have no limit. Each client is one password site, so that number is how many clients you can have at once. A password needs a confirmed email address on your account.

Agreements, Invoices and Notes, in folders clients can browse
The starter has a short README and three folders, Agreements, Invoices and Notes, each with a note that says what goes there. A client who opens the link sees the folders first, then the README, and every folder and file has a path they can click back through.
Put in what you would otherwise attach to an email. PDFs and pictures open in the browser, and Word, Excel and PowerPoint files download when a client opens them. Folders are on every plan.

Let in only the people you name, with no shared password
A shared password is only as private as the people who have it. With Invited, on Pro and Team, you list the client's addresses and each person verifies their email once, with no account and no password to remember. Copy with a password offers Invited where your plan has it, and you can switch a site to it later from Who can open this.

Your firm's name on every client's link
Serve your clients from an address you own, on Plus, Pro and Team. On Pro and Team, one domain can open a whole folder: keep every client in the Clients folder and each one opens at clients.yourfirm.com/acme. Only that folder's sites open there, and each client's password still asks first.

Add a file and the client's link stays the same
On the site's Files tab, choose Add files, or drop a folder named Agreements and its files land inside Agreements. A file with the same name replaces the old one. The link and the password do not change.
Each change goes live at once, unless the site needs approval. On Pro and Team you can turn approval on, so a change waits as a draft until somebody approves it.

Onboarding a new client in six steps
This uses a password site, which is on every plan.
- On New site, choose Client portal under Start from.
- Choose Copy with a password, type the client's name, such as Acme Studio, and choose Create copy.
- Copy the link and the password. The password shows once, so copy it before you close the box.
- Send the link in one message and the password in another.
- Open the site's Files tab and drop a folder named Agreements with the signed contract in it, then one named Invoices with the first invoice.
- The client opens the link, enters the password and sees Agreements, Invoices and Notes. Add to them whenever you like, and the link stays the same.
Questions people ask
Can my clients upload files to the portal?
No. A client can open and download what you add, but cannot add files of their own. For files coming the other way, ask the client to email them, then add them to the site yourself.
Can clients sign agreements or pay invoices there?
No. Solta does not collect signatures or payments. It holds the finished agreement and the invoice PDF where the client can find them.
What does it cost, and does my client need an account?
A password site is on every plan (1 site at a time on Free and 5 on Plus), and the client pays nothing and makes no account. Viewers are free on every plan, and only the people who publish are counted.
Try it with your own file
