Sharing a site
A site has one address, and every way of sharing it is that address in a different form: a link to paste, a code to scan, a frame on your website.
The two addresses
The site's own address, your-site.solta.site, is what you send. It opens the site on its own, full screen, with nothing of Solta's around it — except a small mark in the corner on Free. This is the link that stays the same through every version.
The site in Solta, at solta.now/s/your-site, is where you work on it: the same site with the Comments and Versions panels beside it. Send this one to people you want feedback from; they comment there, and pinned comments only show there.
Copying the link
Open the site in Solta, then the More menu: Copy link is the first thing under Share. The same menu is on each site's card in your library. The link works for whoever the site lets in — set that before you send it, under Choose who can open it, because it is the setting, not the link, that decides.
A QR code
QR code, in the same Share group, shows a code that opens the site at its own address when scanned — for a slide, a poster, a printed handout, or a phone held up across a table. Download PNG gives a 1024-pixel image for anywhere; Download SVG scales to any size, for print.
The code is the link, so it keeps working when you publish a new version, and it lets in exactly who the link does: a password site still asks for the password after the scan.
On your website
Embed on a site gives the snippet that puts the site on a page of yours, in a frame that sizes itself to the content. Embedding covers the options, and An embed will not load what to check when it does not appear.
Other ways
- Your own domain, so the address people see is yours.
- Install as an app, so it opens from a home screen in its own window.
- A Private site can be opened on a phone or another computer of yours with Open on this device, without making it any less private.
